💚 What is EcoBudget Kids?

EcoBudget Kids is a fun, game-like app that teaches elementary students how to save money and care for the planet at the same time.

Students learn short lessons, take quizzes, play a budget game, join eco challenges, and earn coins and badges — all while teachers track everything from one dashboard.

👩‍🏫 For Teachers: Getting Started

Create your class

Open the app → tap I'm a Teacher → fill in your name, email, class name, and a password. The app makes a unique 6-character Class Code (like GRN-4A7).

Share the Class Code

Write your class code on the board or send it home. Students use it to join your class after they sign up.

Students join

Students tap I'm a Student, pick a nickname and avatar, choose their grade, make a password, then enter your class code. They appear in your dashboard instantly.

🎮 Launch a Live Class Challenge — run a Kahoot-style live quiz in class. Students join with a 4-digit code and answer questions in real time on their own devices.
📣 Class Announcement — write a short message students see on their home screen.
📚 Assign Lessons — pick a lesson and set a due date. Students see it in their app.
💬 Message a Student — send quick encouragement to an individual student.
🔗 Parent Links — copy a read-only link for a parent to view their child's progress.
🏆 Live Leaderboard — sort by coins, eco score, or lessons. Updates in real time. Includes a LIVE badge.

⬇️ Export CSV — download all student data as a spreadsheet for report cards or records.
👤 Student Detail — tap any student to see coins, savings, eco, badges, quiz average, class rank, and lesson-by-lesson progress (including their reflections). You can reset progress or remove a student.

📧 Weekly Summary Emails

If you entered your email at sign-up, the app can email you a weekly class summary (total students, average eco & coins, lessons completed, and top savers).

💡 Your email must be a registered account in the app to receive these. Ask Base44 support if emails aren't arriving.

🗓️ When to Use It in Class

Warm-up (5–10 min): Students log in and do one quick lesson or daily challenge.
Math / Personal Finance unit: Assign the budgeting and saving lessons as a sequence.
Earth Day or science tie-in: Use the eco challenges and recycling lessons.
Friday Fun: Launch a Live Class Challenge for a whole-class quiz game.
Centers / independent time: Students work through story mode or mini-games at their own pace.
Home practice: Share the parent link so families can follow along.

Coins 🪙 — earned by finishing lessons, quizzes, the budget game, and challenges.
Eco Score 🌿 — goes up when you make planet-friendly choices.
Savings 💰 — money you chose to save toward a goal.
Levels 🎚️ — as coins grow, you level up with a fun celebration.
Streak 🔥 — log in every day to keep your streak alive and earn streak rewards.
Daily Login Reward 🎁 — a little bonus just for showing up each day.
Badges 🏅 — examples: Needs First (50 coins), Smart Saver (save 10), Earth Helper (20 eco), Recycling Hero (40 eco), Budget Boss (3 lessons), Lesson Legend (6 lessons), Streak Star (3-day streak), Coin Collector (500 coins).

🔒 Safety & Privacy (for Teachers)

Students sign in with a nickname + password only. No student email is required.
Teachers are identified by name or email and a password.
Each teacher sees only their own class's students.
Parent links are read-only — families can view but not change anything.
Teachers can reset a student's progress or remove a student at any time.
Account deletion is available for both teachers and students.

❓ Quick Answers

Q: A student forgot their password?

A: Because passwords are simple PINs, set up a new nickname or have the teacher reset that student's progress / remove and re-add. Keep passwords simple and written down in class.

Q: Can I use it offline?

A: No — it needs an internet connection to save progress.

Q: Does it work on iPads?

A: Yes, and it's designed to look great on phones, tablets, and computers.

Q: Can two teachers share a class?

A: Each class is tied to one teacher account. Create separate classes if needed.

Q: Is there a dark mode?

A: Yes — it follows your device's dark mode setting automatically.
